The Lepidoptera of Australia campaign aims at assembling a complete reference library for all butterflies and moths occurring in Australia, associating DNA barcodes and reliable taxonomic information. The Lepidopteran fauna of Australia is quite unique with a very high level of endemism. The diversity of many groups is expected to be underestimated and the project aims toward a global assessment of the diversity of Lepidoptera on the continent.
